Hello, I have some questions about the installation of the EtherCAT-Master software.
1. Just to make sure that I get it. Can I run EtherCAT-Master with the following NIC? (Real-Time capabilities is not needed). Do I have to use a generic Ethernet driver? 26: PCI 304.1: 0200 Ethernet controller [Created at pci.318] UDI: /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/pci_14e4_1678_0 Unique ID: DkES._ObA2GyJda8 Parent ID: B35A.ia5804xsnuD SysFS ID: /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1c.4/0000:02:00.0/0000:03:04.1 SysFS BusID: 0000:03:04.1 Hardware Class: network Model: "Broadcom NetXtreme BCM5715 Gigabit Ethernet" Vendor: pci 0x14e4 "Broadcom" Device: pci 0x1678 "NetXtreme BCM5715 Gigabit Ethernet" SubVendor: pci 0x1734 "Fujitsu Technology Solutions" SubDevice: pci 0x108c Revision: 0xa3 Driver: "tg3" Driver Modules: "tg3" Device File: eth3 Memory Range: 0xdf930000-0xdf93ffff (rw,non-prefetchable) Memory Range: 0xdf920000-0xdf92ffff (rw,non-prefetchable) IRQ: 17 (no events) HW Address: 00:26:2d:01:85:cd Link detected: yes Module Alias: "pci:v000014E4d00001678sv00001734sd0000108Cbc02sc00i00" Driver Info #0: Driver Status: tg3 is active Driver Activation Cmd: "modprobe tg3" Config Status: cfg=no, avail=yes, need=no, active=unknown Attached to: #24 (PCI bridge) 2. Running the configure-shell causes an error message (missing kernel sources), but I would like to keep my kernel version (Linux primergy-llw1 2.6.31.5-0.1-desktop #1 SMP PREEMPT 2009-10-26 15:49:03 +0100 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux). Are there any possibilities to achieve this? I've heard the EtherCAT-Master 1.5 is still running successfully, but isn't released now. Can I get this version? Is that version (1.5) still compatible with the other existent software? Best Regards Oliver Haala IMPORTANT NOTICE - The contents of this email and attachments are confidential.
