Hello,

I have some questions about the installation of the EtherCAT-Master software.

1. Just to make sure that I get it. Can I run EtherCAT-Master with the
following NIC? (Real-Time capabilities is not needed). Do I have to use a
generic Ethernet driver?

26: PCI 304.1: 0200 Ethernet controller

    Driver Status: tg3 is active
    Driver Activation Cmd: "modprobe tg3"
  Config Status: cfg=no, avail=yes, need=no, active=unknown

2. Running the configure-shell causes an error message (missing kernel
sources), but I would like to keep my kernel version (Linux primergy-llw1
2.6.31.5-0.1-desktop #1 SMP PREEMPT 2009-10-26 15:49:03 +0100 i686 i686 i386
GNU/Linux). Are there any possibilities to achieve this? I've heard the
EtherCAT-Master 1.5 is still running successfully, but isn't released now. Can
I get this version? Is that version (1.5) still compatible with the other
existent software?

Best Regards
Oliver Haala
