Sorry. I asked for help too soon.
A few printk's later I found that I had a typo in the MAC address in /etc/sysconfig/ethercat.
Working now.

I am using EtherCAT: Master driver 1.5.1 with Linux kernel 2.6.37.6.
I built with ./configure --enable-r8169 and all went well but when I start the driver with:
"/etc/init.d/ethercat start" I see the following with dmesg:

Anyone know why the master doesn't accept the device?
Any suggestions for troubleshooting?
