Tom,

Indeed I drive the ADK through its analog input, and I use EtherCAT for monitoring only.

My AKD has both fieldbuses: EtherCAT & CAN.
When I try something new, I try in CAN mode first because it is easier. When it works in CAN mode, then I try in EtherCAT mode.

Last year, I have successfully executed most of the examples from the Kollmorgen documentation (AKD CAN-BUS Communication, section 8.2). The last example is "8.2.2.1 Example: External Trajectory with Interpolated Position Mode" but I have not tried it.

Sebastien,

I've looked through your code example. I'm able to get the drive working in
Cyclic Position mode (OPMODE 8), but not Interpolated Position Mode (OPMODE 7).
How are you creating motion with the AKD drive? Are you able to get
Interpolated Position mode to work?

Thanks!
Tom

Hi,

I have worked with Kollmorgen AKD drive (the successor of S300) I think that it
is not easy to use them at the very beginning because you really need to
understand how EtherCAT works before using them. In particular, you have to
send many SDO commands at the startup to define the PDO.

Look at this post:

Hi,

Planning to use AX2000 series / S300 drive with EtherLab master.

Any samples to run the drive.

Suggestion for how to proceed are welcome.

Thanks and regards.

Dee Jay.
