You can also start the module by hand, and skip all that init stuff altogether, e.g.: ``` modprobe ec_master main_devices=<YOUR MAC ADDRESS HERE> ``` If the above works, you are just editing the wrong file. Inspect your init scripts to see which file is sourced instead. If the above does not work, check this mailing list archive: some time ago the same happened to someone and the cause was a missing kernel option that prevented passing command line arguments to any module.
