Hi Everyone,

I'm experiencing some problems with the new Beckhoff MX formfactor in
combination with etherlab 1.5.2.

Problem 1:
Every slot on the backplane reports as an ethercat slave (equipped with ESC).
However, the SII memory is in the module that you plug into the backplane.
If a slot is empty, this results in that the master assumes a slave is there
but fails reading the memory, then tries to read again, (infinite loop).
To overcome this, I made a small patch to the master, adding a command to
ignore a slave. However, not sure if this is the best way to handle this (will
it for instance affect DC clocks).

Problem 2:
If two base plates are daisy chained only the first one appears. If a hardware
scan is issued from a twincat-system both base plates will be visible. After
that, if reconnected to etherlab master, both baseplates will also be visible.
After power-cycle only the first baseplate will be visible again.

Anyone experienced similar issues with MX? Suggestions how to solve/workarounds?

Would version 1.6.2 version behave any different related to the above issues?

BTW, sorry for the lack of log files. I do not have access to hardware right
now.

Best Regards
Anders Sandström
