I prefer not to include Oniguruma, at least for now. It will work on FreeBSD because it is included in Ruby, which work on FreeBSD. I understand it may not be convenient to download and install a separated library, but I believe in the future, we will have more and more external libraries to depend on, just like what GNUstep has now. I choose OniGuruma over PCRE mainly because of the replacement function inside and it supports many variations of regular expression syntax. As for that many people don't know OniGuruma, I believe it is a culture issue, which I prefer not to discuss heavily. Many open source projects in east is not seen in the west. :D Have fun.
