Well, that's really similar to what we were talking about, isn't it? :D > I'm really interested in exploring how collaborative we can make the > Etoile environment. We used to have a rendezvous implementation for GNUstep, Tryst, but as Chris doesn't seem to be working on it, I guess it's safer to use Howl now... We should think about creating a network architecture for étoilé -- something where applications could register and propose some transfert services, and where other applications could use thoses services. Eg, jabber.app could propose immediate transfert to a contact, gnumail a transfert by mail, waiho by ftp, etc. Something similar to Spike, like we talked about, a small "shared shelf" (probably using Howl for the local network, jabber.app for contacts...), will then use this network architecture. In addition this "network app" will provides two services menu, Services->Send with and Services->Send to (the former showing you a list of the registered network apps, the later showing you a list of your contacts...) Anybody wants to work on a proposal for this architecture ? goal: should be simple to implement for the applications (gnumail, etc.) -- Nicolas Roard "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." -Arthur C.
