Fine. :-) I also think it was a very good experience. In my personal experience, collective code ownership has the disadvantage that no-one feels responsible for an application. I'd very much prefer to have single maintainers who have a certain level of familiarity with the projects. This is especially important when it comes to architectural changes. There needs to be someone who has the authority and competence to coordinate major architectural changes. Otherwise, doing things like that is very problematic to impossible. Another important point is that there needs to be someone who Linux distributors can ask for help. At the moment, both Grr and DictionaryReader are in Debian. Until Etoile reaches a certain level of stability, just picking the working applications from Etoile is the path that most distributors are probably going to take - if these applications can be compiled without Etoile support. > Good luck for this tough semester and all your future projects! > Feel free to come back too or give us feedback in future. Thanks. I'll definitely have a look at the Etoile progress every now and then. :-) Regards, Günther P.S.: Thanks for the Live-CD's! :-) _______________________________________________ Etoile-dev mailing list [email protected] https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/etoile-dev
