I have been surprised the border doesn't look better in gray, so I took a look to Mac OS X windows with Colorimeter utility. What I have found strikes me, Aqua windows have a very nice and subtle gray border because in fact they have no border at all. The border is a side-effect of the window shadow which is really well adjusted. If you look at the top line of the title bar, the shadow is only two pixels thick. The outermost pixel line is almost transparent, but the innermost pixel line is dark but has a little bit of transparency. We perceive this pixel line has a thin gray line. The other benefit of "no border approach" is to eliminate the pretty bad double-line effect visible with scrollers and any bordered controls put along the window border. Cheers, Quentin. _______________________________________________ Etoile-dev mailing list [email protected] https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/etoile-dev
