Hey, I just noticed the similarity between the core idea of services and the data engines in KDE Plasma. Might be widgets independent of the underlying services the right way to go? I mean we don't have a solid file system which would be ideal for a widget based interaction model, and by extensive use of zooming, widget clusters could form projects. You could even add the dimension of time thanks to core object, do something with the widgets and use the data of one in the next, then simply rewind time and choose another start parameter in one of the widgets the playback to a different result.
