Github and svn are orthogonal. You can still do an svn checkout of a github
repository (or an hg checkout). The GitHub infrastructure allows git, svn, or
hg views on all of the repositories, and even correctly handles branches within
them.

When we've moved everything to GitHub, the GNA project will be obsolete, but
people wanting to keep using svn can do so with the GitHub repository.
