Whoops, I found that if I start Azalea first and then the menubar, I

That's your window manager. It doesn't realize that the top 22pixels
are taken by the menu (and how could it), so you will have to let it
know. How to do so depends on the WM you're using.

...and that's Azalea.  Probably just a side-effect of work in
progress, or a poorly-configured wm on my part.
