I've been working on the new Etoile site for the past few months (latest here: http://staging.etoileos.com/ ), and while there is still a bit of work, it's at a point where people can begin contributing content. Specifically, I'm looking for short 3-5 paragraph descriptions for the following topics on the site before we need to submit our Google Summer of Code sponsor application (March 12th):
============= Etoile Overview - /etoile/ (only need 1-2 paragraphs for this) Etoile Detailed Overview - /etoile/0.3/overview/ Etoile Goals - /etoile/0.3/goals/ Etoile Features - CoreObject - /etoile/0.3/features/coreobject/ - EtoileUI - /etoile/0.3/features/etoileui/ - Runtime - /etoile/0.3/features/runtime/ - GNUstep - /etoile/0.3/features/gnustep/ - Camaelon - /etoile/0.3/features/camaelon/ - Overviews of a few frameworks - /etoile/0.3/features/frameworks/ - Applications - /etoile/0.3/features/apps/ Getting started with: - Objective-C - /dev/docs/langugages/obj-c/ - Io - /dev/docs/langugages/io/ - Smalltalk - /dev/docs/langugages/smalltalk/ (These should be brief overviews on each language, some code samples, etc) ============= Some of the content can probably be lifted from the current site and just cleaned up a bit. Some of it may need to be written fresh. Either way, you can get me your descriptions one of two ways: - Reply directly to this thread with your description, and I can plug it in the new site - Add content to SVN, under /web ( http://svn.gna.org/viewcvs/ etoile/web/ ). If doing this, you should just be able to edit the file called main.html under the appropriate directory (directories for each topic above is listed after the topic). You can use Markdown, HTML, or a mix of both in the file. If you think of any other content you'd like to add, just email me off-list and we'll talk about where it should live in the site structure.
