How's this?

The Étoilé project aims to build a modern computing environment
designed for the end of the desktop era and the start of the post-
desktop era. We make heavy use of the dynamic features of Objective-C
to make life easier for developers, for example by providing
persistence and versioning to arbitrary objects transparently. The
project builds on top of the services infrastructure from OpenStep to
provide a flexible component-based environment allowing complex
composite documents to be assembled from simple building blocks.

Okay.

Jesse was going to add a 'getting involved' bit to the site. That
would an ideal place for it to go. Otherwise we should put it
somewhere temporary.

I think this meant a template for applying, not a template for
building applications...

Possibly keep contact with students who were close to being accepted
and see if they would be willing to complete the project? I'm not
sure if the Google rules allow this though.

Excellent.
