you can also register with dns2go for a free dns name so that you dont have to keep tabs on your ip addy...if you're running an ftp server. the program that runs on your system tray will keep checking your ip addy...and update any changes to the dns server. so all you have to do give out your registered dns name...whatever.dns2go.com. i've been using this free service for a year now and it seems to work great. never had any problems...although my ip addy has only changed once since then.
