Thanks to Willy, I have this incredible show on my server *********************** I in turn would like to thank (though these guys are low key and are gonna have heart failure when they read their names on list) David Angelini and Bob Harrell...they are the true heroes in this one! Now Tony says the response was less than overwhelming, so let's explain what we have here... Back in 1983 the Dead had dropped St Stephen from the rotation for a bunch of years, and the talk used to be, 'if only...', 'I would retire...', It'll never happen...', etc etc, you get the idea. Then one seemingly random night at MSG (the worlds most famous arena!) they came out of the drums into a St Stephen.!!! And it was chaos!!! Now having been there (and at the Hartford Stephen show) I can tell you that we all figured it would be played (like Help on the Way, Baby Blue, or any other show that was 'busted') every other night from that point on...there was in my memory even a blah blah/we've seen it already feel to the Hartford Stephen, if you can believe that! Well turns out one more Stephen in Marin on Haloween that month in 83, and never again... Lot's of folks that I know got on the bus that night in NYC...10-11-83... So it is generally one of the first shows a newbie to this etree/shn thing looks for. There has been for some time a sweet sounding audience version of 10-11 and 10-15...and Tony Gardner himself hunted down the 10-31 soundboard and seeded it to etree... Some of my friends say they had been told that the first two Stephen sbds do not exist...like in the vault...I don't know about that but I remember there were 'always' Heads patched into the board...i personally do not believe there is a Dead show from say 76 on that a sbd should not exist for somewhere.
