>You would be correct my good man. As the Beatles never stated it was alright to tape their shows (not counting the Apple rooftop concert, the last one was in 1966, so you won't get a SBD>DAT of this baby) while they were together, they have made occasional references to bootleg studio outakes: Ringo: once stated in an interview that he didn't mind them Paul once stated in an interview that he can't understand why people would be interested in inferior takes when better ones exist. John on the other hand was apparantly an ardent collector, and often made mention of them in interviews. In the summer of 1980 I was in a Greenwich Village record store looking through their bootlegs. When I went to the counter, the clerk said that John was in the store "a few hours ago" and purchased a whole whack of them (Beatles and others). But of course, unless the band states affirmatively that they are cool with taping and trading, they are on the "leave alone" list. Maybe with McCartney planning a tour, he will make a statement about it.....if he is against it, the issue wouldn't be about lost revenue (Paul has been a pretty good saver over the years:^), but rather quality control. peace, Dave WOB: GDead 12-31-72 sitting on my server, first person to respond with a promise to spread it around gets it. _________________________________________________________________ Join the worlds largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com _______________________________________________ etree.org etrade mailing list <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> http://mail.etree.org/mailman/listinfo/etrade Need help?
