----------------------------------------------------------------------Hey
all,
This letter is corcerning all of the issues that have come up lately
regarding "Newbies" and their ignorance to the way things are done around
here. Jay Konheim, a fellow etree member, and I, Dan Bloch, have been
discussing these issues privately for awhile now and have some up with a few
suggestions that have yet to be mentioned. Rather than post all of the
emails we sent each other on this topic for you all to read, I'm just going
to summarize (cut and paste) these ideas, so bare with me this may take
awhile.

We first pondered upon the idea of banning, which seems a little overboard
but would definitely get the point across. And we also realized that
banning by email address would be pointless because the user could just as
easily sign up for a new address and do the same thing again. Then we
questioned banning by IP address which as far as we can tell would probably
work. Maybe we hould have a "Must-Read" page rather than a "Frequently
Asked Questions" page.

>>Post" part of that information, 3. Give people two

>>LIST" in the second warning, 5. Finally offer & allow
>>the chance to rejoin the list/community after a

>>banning is from Posting not receiving/reading

I think we can all agree that if the information were easier to find and not
such a long, tedious process, that things would run alot smoother around
here. Maybe all this info should be on pages preceeding sign-up and must be
read before sign-up rather than having to go search for them afterwards.

Anyways, these are just a few of our thoughts and are not very detailed
since we are only suggesting. We, and I'm sure many others, are willing to
help this thing change for the better.

Peace and love to all,
Dan Bloch
