As far as I know, we got the *fixed* version on DankSeeds before we
completed the review... it should be noted in the info file.

I believe Jim Raras was the one who seeded it, and we made sure that we had
the remastered version before the review was complete.

Subject: [etrade] flawed skb2002-02-02_mk4v-onstage READ IF YOU HAVE
THIS SHOW

I just got this show, skb2002-02-02_mk4v-onstage_dnk.txt (Thanks Allan :-)

Apparently, some of the original releases of this recording were flawed
and are now fixed. Here is the snippet of the info file from the taper
who fixed the flaws.

***THIS SHOW WAS REVISED ON 2/17/2002 BY D.H.***

Steve Kimock Band
Bowery Ballroom, NYC

*24-bit/48kHz recording*
Recorded and mastered by Dan Heend - [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Schoeps CMC6-MK4V ORTF DFC on stage ->

Comments from Dan:

Unfortunately, the patchbay had some problems in the 2nd set for all of
the DAT patchers out there, and the result is, only this 24-bit material
and the backup DAT deck were unaffected (they were not affiliated with the
patchbay). A 16-bit 44.1kHz version of this show has been mastered from
this 24-bit material by me, and will undoubtedly be the only CD mastering
worth having from my mics. The backup DAT was given to someone else who
failed to master it properly and was subsequently prematurely put into
distribution, being recalled days later. Therefore, the only *good* SHN
files or CD's from my mics that anyone *should* have will have been
mastered by me. In other words, if it's Schoeps 4V's onstage, and it
wasn't mastered by me, seek a better copy.

Sincethe recent SKB on stage recordings sound so great, I want to make
sure that the fixed recording gets out there. I will try to up this show
to as many servers as I can to help spread the tunes. High speed servers
only for now please. Be able to accept uploads of at least 50kbps. Send
me your info (and a link to your list please) and if you can trade me
something too, great.

Sean
