Yes, and Kodak is now a Japanese company, not American.

Most people with an 8x burner or less may have problems. Including this
digi-noise problem. I have seen this before. Not only with Kodak but other
brands too, depends on the burner. I had problems with Mitsui. It's a burner
problem, not a disc problem.
I would suggest while you can still get CDR burners to upgrade. What I mean
by that is soon we will be going to DVD burners. I suspect CDR burners will
go the way of cassettes or beta video. Still can get them, but you have to
look harder and harder to find them. You can buy 9.4 GB DVD-R's.
This is great! wow!
Some burners don't like certain brands. This is no longer true with the
latest generation of burners. I would suggest you give them another try when
you upgrade burners, but they will be no more Kodak very soon.
What I'm bummed about is I won't be able to get a quality gold 80 minute
discs. i have been using Kodak Ultima gold/silver mix. I bought 700 of them
hoping to have a supply for a bit. I use these only for archive of SHN
discs. Check the tests on Kodak's site. Sure it's advertising, but no other
discs are even close to the quality of Ultima's A real shame we are losing
them!
See David's post for links to tests. I have seen independant tests that
confirm a lot of these results, it's not BS!
