hi folks,

I will be the first to admit that i made my fair share
of trouble causing posts. I am not here to do this
today.

I am here to provide some info.

I am one of the founders of AVZ

We actually started AVZ for dial uppers. we thought
it would be a faster way for those people not lucky
enuff to be blessed with fast connections to get a lot
of great music in a short amount of time. It has
worked, although a lot of the people over there have
fast connections.

Somebody on this list (i can't remember his name) made
reference to us requiring a show to be in th DB for it
to be able to be vined. That is not entirely true.
We require that the md5's either match the ones in the
db or the viner must contact the originator (taper)
and et the orig md5's from him/her.

As for AVZ ers being all the cool people who left
etree, I know for a fact that that is not true. Some
of our best viners are frequent contributors to etree.
I think that is great. Etree and AVZ should have no
problem what so ever peacefully coexisting.

I got my start at etree thanks to none other than Rom
Servo. I was known then as scott norton
([EMAIL PROTECTED]) I thank etree for allowing me to
come to a place where i was able to get a lot of music
in a fairly painless way. I also contributed back
alot of shows through B&P's.

Etree has a lot of great people. I don't know alot
about snobbish site ops because i dealt with very few
ftp trades. I was and still am a fan of snail mail.
I don't doubt that they exist, but common sense tells
me that they must be the rareity because if all site
ops were d--ks etree would not have survived and grown
into what it is today.

If you have read this far you must be wondering what
my point is.

All I am asking is for both communities to get along.
If you want to see what AVZ is like, please feel free
to come on over and check it out. It really is a nice
place. I will warn you all that the amount of
sarcastic and useless email over there is alot, but
delete works really well.

oh yeah, and Tony Gardner, your seeds rock and
without you the amount of great tunes that have been
spread would have been greatly reduced.

I hope that this finds all of you in good health and
high spirits

Scott
