Dear Imation,

I am an active CDR trader. I download and burn a lot of music to CDR.
Naturally, I consider quality and price when I purchase blank CDR's, and
I have used many brand names over the course of my music-burning hobby.

Until today, I considered Imation 80 MB CDR's to be an acceptable
burning medium. Now, I don't.

This morning I burned a CDR and placed it on the passenger seat of my
vehicle as I warmed my engine up this morning. Before I began to drive
my vehicle to work, I put it in my CD player. At lunchtime, I returned
home listening to the same CDR, and the CDR began to skip regularly and
display a hiss at specific intervals in certain songs.

I have heard other CDR traders and music-burners complain about Imation
products before, in fact, they have gone so far as to describe Imation
CDR's as "famous" for scratching easily, but until today, I figured that
these kinds of remarks were issued by 'perfectionist' music recording
individuals.

I removed the CDR that I burned this morning from my CD player, and
examined the underside -there were minute irregularites on the CDR. I
rubbed it with the sleeve of my fleece, in an attempt to remove these
irregularities, and only discovered that my fleece scratched the CDR
further!

This kind of product is unacceptable in the CDR market. The quality of
this product is inferior, and I will NEVER buy an Imation CDR product
again -no matter how cheap they may be!

Fortunately, the number one weapon for the consumer in this day and age
is choice (and free speech), and I am excercising mine in regards to
your inferior CDR product.

Lost customer,

Tom Warren
