As long as the md5 file and the files being checked are in the same directory, then the check should work fine on a read-only disc (CD) or R-W (HD). Of course, the filenames in the md5 file should match those of the files. > Or do most folks just copy the files to their HD then run a > md5check?? That should not be necessary and is just a waste of time. After I burn SHN archives to disc, I ALWAYs check the md5 directly from the disc to be sure my discs are good. Hope this helps you, Andrew (along with a few newbies and a few crotchety oldies).
