When you post an "ISO" ("in search of") message, you're using etree's
resources for your own gain, so it's the courteous and unselfish thing to
offer something to help the community as well. That's why you offer a "WOB
tax" to the community in general, like to the second respondent, or the
person who answers a riddle, or something like that. Offering something to
the person who fulfills your request isn't a "WOB tax," it's a trade. It
doesn't benefit the community.

I have what most people would consider a very big list of Grateful Dead CDs,
and I frequently have what people are looking for in their ISO postings. But
I only respond to ISO postings that include a WOB. Please try to remember
that you have to put energy into the wheel as well as taking it for
yourself.
