Alright, there was a setting in XP -CP/Network Connections/Local Area Connections/Properties tab that had "Protect my computer and network by limiting or preventing access to this computer from the internet" checked.
Found it just snooping around. I don't think that this will by-pass all of the router and client software config I've had to do recently, but let's just see. Also, does anyone know how to find one's "Primary and Secondary DNS Servers?" Somewhere far down w/in my CP w/in the Network menu I found a DNS server setting that showed 192.168.0.1 -which is my Netgear router. Suppose that's right, since my home network goes cable modem > router > admin pc/ftp server pc.
