Just so you know (and you probably do). iTunes converts everything it imports to mp3 format by default. (Thanks to Peter B for reminding me.)
So if you are using iTunes to extract music from your disks (you should be using cdparanoia if you're using OS X anyway) and you haven't changed the default prefs for iTunes, chances are you may have burned audio disks, or created shns that have an mp3 gen in them. To fix it, just change the default Preferences for the importer to import to wav instead of mp3. Apple, I think, was being stupid when they set the default importer to mp3 instead of aiff or wav.
