Here's something server ops may/may not know. "I have war ftp 1.8 and I'm trying to allow [an] upload. it all starts out well, but he get's like three songs in and it hangs on him and doesn't allow him to reconnect? I have no idea what's going on, and he mentioned that he had no probems uploading to you. I think I've set everthing. idle timeout for his account is set to like 60 minutes, which I don't think is the problem. i think it has something to do with passive login? but I'm not sure what. I can't even find anything about it in the help files? if you can, can you help me out a bit? I'd be pretty thankful."
YO - check out your settings for his directory access capability. WFTP is a pretty solid program, but I'm using BulletproofFTP server now, and I have NO complaints regarding 1) upload capacity bans/ceilings and 2) help file/tooltips -which I find EXTREMELY useful. It's worth the 30 bucks. Here's the setting you need enabled: 'Append' in the directory access section, wherever that is in WFTPserver. The append function allows uploaders to reconnect and restart (where they left off) on an upload. Hope this helps.
