Hey etree folks...

I experimented recording live with a laptop. It has a std sound card
(whatever came with it) and has 64megs of ram and a 5-6 gig harddrive. To
make a long winded story short, the recording has digital pops after 30
minutes or so for each set. The recording was of the Dark Star Orch at the
State Theatre in Falls Church VA. The recording was done using Sound Forge
4.5.
I was able to remove the pops using Sound Forge 4.5 but it is very
time consuming and a stare came across my face after two or three pops were
removed. I then loaded a small portion of the wave file into MATLAB. I was
able to successfully remove the pops there too. The problem is for larger
file sizes my pute crashes. The computer I was editing with has 512 megs of
ram and three harddrives totallin around 100 gigs of space. My machine
should be able to handle this...
My question(s) to the community is there code available in C or
whatever that allows for the shn file to be read. I know someone has some
code like this since there are shn plugins for winamp. I would like to
experiment more with sound editing. Has anyone else done something similar??
Any conversations/ideas pertaining to this topic would be appreciated.

Peace
Andrew
