Glenn-

I have a 97 IBM that had 32k RAM, a 6G hard drive and Windows 95 with no
burner, and a slow processor(266 I think).

I spent about $500 and bought 256k RAM, a 60G IBM harddrive, Windows 98 and
Plextor a 16X burner- then got cable modem service and have been downloading
and burning ever since. I could not use Windows 2000 or ME or XP because of
my slow processor speed. I have experienced very few problems since
installing everything- which i did myself- it was easier than i thought.

I have yet to burn any coasters with the Plextor and have not heard of any
probelms extracting any discs I've burned with it.
