All,
I ran into this problem in win2k, after some security updates (at least
thats my best guess).

I was able to fix this by going to the directory where mkw was installed,
then right clicking on 'mkwACT.exe' and selecting
properties. On the property page that comes up, select the security tab.
Click add, then add the 'Everyone' group. Then under permissions, click
allow on all the types of permissions (Full Control, Modify, etc.). This
solved all my problems. Hope this helps some people. Feel free to email me
if you cant follow the steps I put in above. I haven't (and wont) switch to
XP, but im assuming it would be close to the same since it pretty much just
2k with some eye candy

Subject: [etree] mkw question + WOB

I have a problem with mkw on my computer

I convert shows from my DAT and I have the
wav files on my computer. i track them out and
do all the normal shit, then when I go to convert
to .shn, I can't get the seek tables to work. if
mkw is set to make any kind of seek table, it crashes.
it works for regular .shn compression without seek
tables, but I want seek tables!!!

any help would be grately appreciated.

thanks
brad
