Here's a re-post of last night's post for all you day-ftp'ers -you know who you are!
Over the course of a few short months, I've gone from a slurping fool, to a serving fool! Yeah, so now I run a humble server off of my home pc (which is always on, always open, not the greatest of bw, etc.), but I'm interested in feeling out a little offer to a particular niche of the music-trading communities to which I belong. Here goes. Here's the pitch/schpiel. Get ready. I'm interested in affording other siteops a permanent account -uploadable and downloadable w/ all the bells and whistles (at least as many as a particular siteop may feel comfortable with -create dir, erase dir/file, resume upload, etc.) to other siteops in order to help spread new shows easier as well as to enable those of us who help keep the music up for others to slurp to get shows we may not have access to via conventional b&p's and other trading methods. Any takers/interested, please respond to me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] or on either the etree or smegs list. I mean, I don't particularly want to do a b&p when I can try to get someone to upload it to me, or download it from another siteop for that matter! Seems like this sort of thing probably goes on behind-the-scenes anyhow (it does for me), but I'm talking about a new kind of offer here. Once you're in, you're in, your account stays active (semi-)permanently, and mirroring/spreading tunes becomes that much easier. Please respond on or off-list, makes no diff to me. Always up for a good discussion, and especially like people who point out the foibles of a seemingly good idea/plan. Thanks etree/smegs!
