The only real way to do this is to save the contents as a disc image .wav
file, then open it in a sound editor such as Cool Edit or Sound Forge (Or
any sound editor that will give you a graphical view of the file)..the two
second gaps should be very easy to spot (It's where the line completely
flattens out)...magnify in to to the particular section and CAREFULLY
highlight it-if you then press 'play' you should only hear the two seconds
of silence. If so, press 'cut' or 'delete' and the two seconds you've
highlighted will disappear. play the section again and your gap should have
totally disappeared BUT as well as the silence, when a gap is inserted, it
can often leave a little 'click' at the end of the silence-you will see it
as a slight 'notch' on the wave, so when you delete the silence, make sure
this is also deleted otherwise you will hear the click. When you've cut all
your silences out, use wave editor to re-split the tracks without any gaps.

There are other downloadable programs like wavtrim, but I don't find them
anywhere near as accurate as the above method.

Cheers

Andy
