not to be a crankier bastard, but if a thread offends/upsets/irritates
you, it's much more effective to use mail filters to rid yourself of the
thread as opposed to revealing your cranky bastardness on the list. i
for one enjoyed the thread start to finish, and considering that
participation in the thread was not limited to a few people (which would
indicate it should have been taken private) I would suggest that there
was nothing wrong with it. I do realize that some people consider it
off-topic, but how on earth can we really say that jamband related
discussions and the tangents that stem from them are not on-topic? i
don't know about the vast majority of people on this list, but i don't
subscribe to any other discussion lists and i enjoy grateful dead
related discussions etc... i guess i'm trying to say that it's a shame
we are stopping people from having intelligent/non-offensive/interesting
discussion when we regularly let fights and useless drivel spiral out of
control with no attempt to stop it.
