Actually, I think this was a nice, (definitely) on-topic discussion. And I'm sure your WOB offering is appreciated. Yes...on topic! Sure, the MP3 vs. SHN debate has been discussed many times here. It always pops us every 4 months or so (just like the "which disc brand is better" thread). But since it's normally an MP3'er asking a legitimate question like "why SHN?" I think it's a valid discussion topic. Plus, with all of the intelligent and civil replies in this thread (the NICEST discussion I've seen on eTree in a while, I might add), that person/s may see the SHN light! Nothing wrong with that!
So don't be so quick to squash threads that you're not interested in. Personally, if I get bored with a thread, I just delete the posts. Sure...sometimes the threads get out of hand and br0thercr0w needs to step in. But he didn't in this case and I think he was right on. (Still wondering why he stamped out the GD/Israel thread...it was fun & harmless! :) ) So MP3 away! They definitely have their place in the music community.
