I have always held this belief. That's one of the reasons that I think
Windows is dying. That, and the marketing strategy of making computers
easier for the now-aged-and-dying baby-boomers to use, when most people my
age have absolutely zero problem with computers and want something that
works better--hence Linux.

The problem with 95/98 is that it still has the DOS stand-alone
legacy, while Linux has the Unix legacy of assuming that your
computer is always connected to a network.
