Well, I'm not 100% sure how AT&T does it, but here's the info you need
to find out from them:
Domain Name Server IP Address
Static or Dynamic IP Addressing (for your machine when it connects)
Login type (CHAP, PAP, Console)
UserID
Password
With that, you just have to fill in the boxes. Use -debug option in the
ppp options (in the account setup section, choose ppp arguments) to have
error messages logged to your syslog (less /var/log/messages to read it)
and to let kppp tell you more about why you can't log in (sometimes it
even gets it right and correctly identifies the problem).
One problem that I have noticed is if the ISP uses NT, they can set up a
MS-CHAP, which uses a different encryption scheme than normal CHAP, just
to keep Unix-heads from making PPP connections to a NT machine (OK, not
really, it's "theoretically" more secure, but this is the end result).
There's some way to make it work, but I never tried it--just read about
it.

Hi, would anyone have any suggestions for setting up Kppp with At&t
worldnet internet service? Thanks
