Hey - I've got a 256k DSL connection through US-West and a different ISP (I'm avoiding USWest.net) I'm thinking of upgrading to 512. I understand that making it faster entails the phone company making some changes to the line priority in some hardware somewhere. But since I already have my hookup through my ISP, do they need to know about the speed increase? What's the technical reason for them needing to know the speed? Do they actually have limiting hardware that limits the throughput? I'm using Clipper. Thanks, Curt
