Hi guys, I've been away for a good 8 months, but I'm back now. I'm not even sure I know anybody on the list any more! I was wondering if anybody had a distribution out there with the new raid patches set up in the rescue image disks. I'd like to raid0 stripe some partitions together, but don't want to make my own boot image to make the raid partitions in the first place. I got as far as hacking my SuSE boot disk to have raid support so my SuSE installation could recognize and use any raid0 partitions, but I would still have to create my very own boot disk to make the darn partitions in the first place. Does anybody know what, if any, distributions come with a rescue image that has the raid patches applied?? You can tell because it goes through a little calibration step in boot time for raid5, where it checks how fast your MMX registers are, among other things. I suppose I could just go download and check them all...... Also, does anybody have a Mandrake distribution that I could borrow or convince somebody to copy? I'd like to try it out. Are there any stores which carry Linux distributions in town now? Cicuit City, and Best Buy, etc. had them in Arizona and Colorado. On other issues, how goes the LUG? Do we have 100,000 members yet? Have you clustered all your beige boxes together and created an artificially intelligent being? Had Alan Cox as a speaker, or finally got enough money together for that hit on Bill Gates? I suspect its about the same as when I left, but I thought I'd ask anyway. ;-) Finally, I remember somebody emailing me from the list about getting a game server set up a couple months ago, and asking whether I was ever coming back. Well, I'm back, but I forget who sent me the email, and I can't find it in my voluminous in box! If whoever that party was could email me again, I'd appreciate it. -Jason Crosswhite [EMAIL PROTECTED]
