What is the make/model of the USB modem? A number of USB modems are of
the "winmodem" type with all of the logic in the windows driver. There
is a USB standard for modems, and there are a number of them that meet
the spec. These are the only ones that will work on Linux for now.
I can bring in a keyboard and a mouse to test out if it's working or
not.
Have you all had to recompile a kernel for the box yet? If so, which
version are you using.
