Dear Eugene Lug members,

I bought the "door buster" PC-100 128 MB S-DRAM at Fry's Electronics in
Wilsonville (exit 283 off I-5, most of you already know this) for $109. I
found out that it is rated at "10 ns.".

Later, I was at Computer Renaissance in Corvallis, where I purchased a
"better" PC-100 128 MB S-DRAM for $133, rated at "8 ns". This one is
probably more suitable for my Athlon 500 Mhz, so I installed it and it works
fine.

I also bought Oracle 8i for Linux at Fry's ($99.95) and it recommends 256 MB
of RAM but says that one can limp along on 128 MB. I prefer NOT to limp
along.

I could return the "slower 10 ns. S-DRAM" to Fry's within 15 days and get my
money back. And, I frequently drive up to Hillsboro anyway. However, if any
Eugune Lug member wants to purchase the 10 ns. 128 MB S-DRAM for $109 w/o
driving up I-5 to exit 283, please let me know.

Regards,

Rodney

Rodney
