MBR reset?

  I need a little help.  My linux HD that I'm trying to install Win 95
on is revolting against me and wont let me install what it must know as
a inferior OS.  How do I clear the Master Boot Record and remove lilo?
I've tried reformatting with the /s switch and several other things.
This is just going to be a gaming computer with Win 95 as the only OS
installed.
