You should be able to invoke xmatrix directly from the
command line.  Type "xmatrix -root".  On my box (Mandrake
6.1), it's in /usr/X11R6/lib/xscreensaver, so I type this.

    /usr/X11R6/lib/xscreensaver/xmatrix -root

If you want to make it permanent, put that command in one
of the X startup locations.  Which one?  Depends on what
distro you're using and how you start X.

We bought the video of that movie a couple of weeks ago --
maybe we'll get to watch it soon.
