I don't know.

But here's an idea -- pick one of the messages that don't appear and
grep for the message text in the samba sources. Look at the code.
Figure out how/where samba is writing the message. Then you (or we)
can figure out how to capture it. "Use the Source, Luke!"
It may be to syslog -- if that's where it's going, it's easy to tweak
syslog.conf to put the message where you want it. I grepped through
the samba sources yesterday and saw a lot of mention of syslog, but
didn't try to figure them all out.
