Firstly, get yourself a basic tape drive to do backups, either a 4mm or 8mm,
it would scare me to have an ISP that doesn't do backups. Even look for used
tape drives.

This may end up "costing more" in the long run, as it'll be likely the free
server uses a completely different system for web and mail daemons &
configurations. Also, these services will cost you a pretty penny over the
months. It'd probably be better/cheaper to just buy the "small" HD and set
up a P166 or above.

It'll be hard finding a 1gb drive, but at Computer X Press they list fujitsu
4.5gb drives for ~$74, a 6gb for only $3 more, 20gb for ~$135. Their site is
at http://www.computer-x-press.com, and they're on Q Street in Springfield.
Always call ahead to make sure the item is in stock, before driving over
there.
