I've decided to just build a 3rd computer to act as a backup server.. the
tape drive backup is a fine idea, but I already backup the system to
cdrom. I need a 3rd computer to inject to my hub when I feel like taking
my main server down.

I have many necessary parts, but it seems I have a motherboard that
doesn't want to expose itself via monitor. I plug my monitor cable into
the video port and nothing happens when I start the system up. I've
checked the cables to the HD, and they are fine.. red side = #1 on the
receiving side of the motherboard.

Anyway, I need a new motherboard but I don't know what kind I should get.
This 3rd computer will only be used during downtime of my main server,
which will be rare. So I don't want an expensive mother board. What
would anyone suggest as a good inexpensive motherboard that supports linux
well? I have an old 16 meg ram chip for it (about 3 or 4 years old)
that I'd like to use and not have to buy new ram.

Thanks.

james
