well, I changed machines yet again. I was not looking forward to having to completely reinstall linux on the new machine. Rather than just jumping in and hosing the drive, I decided to try and boot the machine even though the new machine is not a dual processor but rather a single processor box. To my surprise, although I shouldn't have been, it booted. So, I am now reconiling the kernal for the 68,498,xxx time and shutting off the SMP support. At the same time, I compiled the support for my new NIC into the kernal so I would not have to load the module later. Had this been a Win#$ws box, this would not have even been close to happening. With each passing day, I become more and more impressed with Linux. Go Penguins!!! Ron -- Time has little to do with infinity and jelly donuts.
