Nice to know that people think we are doing something cool....
Consider this a high compliment to all of us eugluggers!

Seth,

FYI, I forwarded your note to the LPI Advisory Council
(http://www.lpi.org/a-advisory.html) and also passed it
along to the Linux International Board list as well.

So that ought to stir a few things up for you...

Best wishes for the show,
Dan

LPI Advisory Council members,

I don't usually pass along any of the various requests I get from
LUGs (which is one of the things I do when wearing my Linuxcare hat),
but this one struck me as an intriguing event... we always talk about
needing to reach out beyond all the typical "Linux" events to recruit
new Linux users... well here is a LUG reaching out to a *much*
different audience! If any of you feel motivated to assist these
folks, please contact them directly.

Gotta love the power of passion in the LUGS... how many of our
companies would ever set up a booth at a state fair? It sounds
like a fun time...

Regards,
Dan

Dear Linux supporting vendor,

Apologies for the delay on this, but we only just finalized the
plans this week. If you can help us out, we'd be grateful...

Eugene Unix and GNU/Linux User Group (Euglug) [ http://www.euglug.org]
will have a large presence at the Oregon Country Fair
(http://www.oregoncountryfair.org/ ) on July 7 8 and 9th...
This Fair has a yearly turnout of 10s of thousands and we expect to
get a lot of vistors to our booth.

Any items we can raffle, give away, etc would be great appreciated.
During our past Linux Demo days, we've managed to give away hundred of
items, including many CDs, and had a huge 'sticking' factor, with many
many people putting Linux onto their system (often at one of our weekly
clinics)

If you can send us a box (or more) of 'goodies', Euglug will make sure you
recieve due recognition, and we'll mention you on our website as a sponsor.

We are entirely volunteer, with no dues or other fund raising functions,
and we depend on vendor's bountifulness to hold these events, and give away
fun stuff and promote Linux and other free software/open source efforts.
We cannot afford to give away CDs we burn ourselves, but in the past Red
Hat, SuSe, and many of other Linux vendors have given us boxes of CD to
give away,
as well as TShirts, Full packages, and Books. While this might be short
notice, if you can send us something, we'd be very happy.
