The injunction forcing Napster to close has been stayed. That means
that Napster is still running. If any of you have fast network access,
you might have noticed that traffic is a little slow today. I harbor a
suspicion that the napster-heads were clogging the bandwidth as they
tried to pirate that last mp3 before the plug was pulled. It might take
several days for things to normalize.
What's funny to me is the idea that the lawsuit has done more to benefit
napster than anything else. All this free publicity.... I mean,
there's probably somebody who lives under a rock in Armpit, NE who says,
"Look, I didn't know I could go pirate entire albums of Twisted Sister
for free using something called the internet, but this here newspaper
tells me how."
