What are your error messages? They will help you fix the problme.
Go to a console prompt within x windows and type 'netscape' or 'navigator' or even
'communicator'. 'netscape' should try to load Netscape. If it says command not
found, you need to install (or reinstall it). Other error messages will show
otherwise.
Use gnorpm (typed at the command line as root [ie 'su' and root's password] ) to
reinstall netscape.
Don't know about your chat program.
