"All energy flows according to the whim of the Great Magnet"
                                         - Hunter S. Thompson

Hi all --

I'll soon be working with FreeBSD at work, and am thinking hard about
installing it at home to study and learn it. I was very impressed with
the range of ported software available for FreeBSD and that it has
native Linux binary compatibility. It is supported by BSDi which just
merged with Walnut Creek which also strongly supports Slackware Linux.
There is a very good reference - The FreeBSD Handbook - that is down-
loadable in several formats, including pdf, or browsable online.

The installation program has a similar look and feel to it to the Slack-
ware installation (which I for one relly like) after a nifty little
hardware conflict resolution interactive display.

I've been toying with the idea of a once a month FreeBSD users sub-group
meeting of EUGLUG (Eugene UNIX-GNU/LInux Users Group). Any one
interested
in dialoging with me to explore this idea?
